  • Increase in the number of indigenous advanced breed cows in the state and breed improvement.
  • This scheme is applicable in all districts of the state.
  • Under the scheme, a maximum subsidy of 40 percent of the cost of a unit of 2 cows of Gir, Sahiwal, Haryana, and Tharparkar breeds, up to a maximum of ₹80,000/-, is payable.
  • Fifty percent of the beneficiaries of the scheme are reserved for women.
  • The cow to be purchased must be of the first or second calving.
  • Only one unit (2 cows) per cattle owner.
  • Ear tagging will be mandatory for animal insurance and cow identification.
  • Advertisement for applications will be published throughout the state (with a one-month window).
  • The applicant must be over 18 years of age.
  • Milk The producer/animal husbandry owner must have available space for keeping the animals.
  • The animal husbandry owner must not already have more than two Gir, Sahiwal, Haryana, Tharparkar, or F-1 crossbred cows.
  • Applications will be made online using the prescribed format. However, until the Nand Baba Milk Mission portal is made online, animal husbandry owners will submit their applications offline, either by registered post or directly to the office of the Chief Development Officer, Chief Veterinary Officer, or Deputy Dairy Development Officer of the respective district.
  • Beneficiaries will be selected through e-lottery.
  • Beneficiaries must apply for the grant within a maximum of one month of purchasing the cow.
  • The grant amount will be disbursed to the beneficiary's bank account through DBT.
